Seeing the two lovers engrossed in a private conversation, Ray decides to take the opportunity to run away while he can. Just when he's about to flick his finger and leave them a nasty parting gift, his conscious starts bugging him again. Reminding him how Vince feels and that he was the one that had just freed him from the rope, going as far as even healing him. Shaking his head and trying to push the thoughts away again, Ray drops his hand and instead begins by putting as much distance as possible between him and them.
"Shut the Hell up!!" he roars and hits the side of his head with a fist. Angry with the nagging voice that just won't quit and himself for not putting up enough fight against Frosty and letting himself get dragged back here to witness something that he more than ever doesn't wish to allow happen. The loud shout makes Vince jump back from Evan with a look of confusion. He turns his head and sees that Ray has begun to walk off and is shaking with anger just a few feet away.

"A-are we too loud? Sor-" Evan cuts him off, annoyed that Ray still somehow has some kind of emotional hold over the death demon. Even after all that he's done.

"Hang on Vince! You don't have to say sorry to him. Not to the kind of guy who doesn't appreciate your help or even wants to wish you happiness in your own life." Hearing this Ray stops dead in his tracks and spins on the cafe owner.

"What? I did appreciate it!" he snaps and clenches his jaw. How can the guy ever believe that he's never appreciated anything that Vince has done for him? Is that the impression that he's giving him? That he's that ungrateful? Taking a few steps closer to them he comes to a sudden stop again. Sure he's done things recently. They were all about keeping his friend from marrying the human though. Not to hurt him or make him feel bad about anything.

"So that's the expression of someone who appreciates something that was given, is it?" Evan snarls gesturing at Vince to make him look at Ray and see the sullen expression that he has on his face. Ray clenches his jaw even harder and is more determined not to give an inch to the guy.

"This was caused by what Frosty did to me!” he snaps, jabbing a finger into his own face. “It's got nothing to do with Vinnie. So you can shut your own and stop trying to win points by only telling him half of the story, arsehole." Truthfully though he knows that some of it was caused by a bit of jealousy. Not that he's about to let that change the situation and take some of the weight from his argument.

Evan feels the heavy slump in the death demon and knows that once again the sadness of the situation is beginning to creep back in. So close to the ceremony, he pulls back from continuing to yell at the red arc. The last thing that he needs is for Vince to throw his hands up in surrender and tell them both to fuck off and leave him alone. Someone has to guard his feelings and keep him happy. If Ray wants to upset him, then fine, let him. In the end Vince will surely see who cared and who didn't and make a decision based on that. Folding his arms he then chooses not to argue any more. To make certain that Ray doesn't keep escalating things, he adds to this by deciding to remove his lover from the whole situation. Taking Vince by the hand he begins pulling him away. Only to feel resistance and have Vince suddenly ask him if he could just give him a sec. Once again Ray has won out and Vince is about to let the guy feed more bad feelings onto the death demon. Against his better judgement Evan relents with a heavy sigh; Stepping away a short distance to give the friends a little privacy. All that he can do right now, is wish that the day could pass quickly so he can be married and end at least this part of Ray's argument.

"Umm..Ray? Now that you're here, even though I already asked Spyd to do it, I just wanted you to know..." Vince's courage begins to fail and his voice grows small and weak. Curling a lip and unable to hear him any more, Ray shakes his head, steps forwards and cups a hand around his ear.

"What? Want me to know what?" Sucking a deep breath and drawing up some strength, Vince tenses his jaw and stares deeply into the red arc's ruby red eyes.

"I was gonna make you my Best Man,” he says firmly. This makes Ray stand up straighter and drop his hand from his ear. The expressionless look on his face baffles Vince for a moment, but he's not quite finished yet. “That's why I called you over a hundred times today."

"That's uh..great?" Ray shrugs, his determination not to be part of what he considers a charade, still fixed in place and stronger than ever. He knows that the position is a very important one and it's not something offered lightly. If Vince had been marrying anyone else Ray would happily have taken his place and been proud to be by his friend's side. A twinge of despair races through the red arc and he shudders. Feeling the prickle of wetness at the corners of his eyes he turns suddenly and looks away. Unwilling to let Vince see how much this decision that he has made is hurting him. Vince furrows his brow and deflates a little. He had thought that Ray would have at least cared about being asked to be there at his side for his big day.

"I never got an answer so...” Vince hesitates a little. “...so I ended up asking Spyd if he'd do it instead."

"Uh huh" Ray nods, still fighting the hot flush of emotion until he wins and he can pull it back again. Turning back to face the death demon, he sighs as though bored and leans back on his spine. Waiting to see if that is all that he had to say, not wanting to hear any more about the wedding. Sad as he is that he can't be part of the ceremony, he's kind of glad that he won't be standing so close when those last few moments of freedom are snatched away from his friend. A moment more passes and the silence between them grows heavy, until Evan clears his throat and breaks the spell, snapping them out of it.

"So... I'll see you at the ceremony?" Vince half asks, hoping that Ray will at least be there to offer some kind of support, even if it will be as a guest.

With nothing more being proffered by the silent arc, he turns and walks away with Evan. Ray watches them leave and wonders if it would make any difference if shouted at them right now, that he doesn't want them to get married. They've disappeared around a corner by the time he's decided that it probably wouldn't. Turning away himself he's about to continue on his way, when notices a clay pot nearby and looks around to see if anyone is watching him. Extending a finger and slowly moving it towards the ornament, he pokes it sharply and it teeters on its stand, then topples, smashing into pieces on the ground. They might think that they've won by forcing him to be here, but he's not finished yet and still intends to make the day horrible for everybody.

"Oops, my bad," he sniggers and walks away quickly.

A few days have passed and with most of the big things done, the tiny details have slowly come together and the garden looks absolutely perfect. When the guests arrive they will be astonished with how lavish it all looks. Vince has been watching and is overwhelmed by it all, even Evan is touched by how hard the death demon's friends have worked to make their day perfect. The bridal cars were a worry, until yesterday, when the large double gates opened and Spyder's own personal cars slowly drove down the driveway. Lead by a large white limousine three Lamborghini's followed, pulling up in the parking area beside the out building. Walking almost stiff legged towards the shiny white vehicles, the cafe owner tentatively placed a hand on one of them, half expecting it to melt away because he was only dreaming.

The limo will be driven by Spyder's own personal chauffeur and everyone else will follow in the Lamborghini that they have been designated. Kurt had organised something else, but the deal had fallen through, due to a silly clerical error, so this was the back up. What a back up though, the cafe owner had thought with an almost disbelieving shake of his head. Looking at the cars he can barely imagine what originally may have been standing there, and for just a moment he felt just a little of what Vince must feel in regards to his friends. It's no wonder he fights so hard to defend them. They truly are great friends for his lover to have.

He knows however, that even if he wished to he could never have paid for all of this on his own. He had spoken to Spyder about it, who has happily been writing one cheque after another and doing deals to make sure that nothing is left undone or overpriced, making the suggestion that he'd pay him back for it all. He was surprised by the cold surly look he received for even suggesting such a thing. The grey eyed arc had then remarked quietly that he would not accept the money, even if he did. Besides which, the ceremony has already been paid for. That it is his present to the couple, so why in the world would he ever expect them to pay for it. Then with a look of sheer insult on his face, he walked away. That was that it seemed and Evan accepted that if he pressed the issue then he may end up with two angry arc demon's to deal with and one was bad enough already. He made it up to Spyder later and the incident passed without another word needing to be said about it. They are now almost done with the preparations and all that's left for them to do is to help Vince and Evan to prepare themselves for the day.

With just one day left to go before the marriage day itself, which is scheduled to start at 12 pm, Spyder is woken at 7 am, by an urgent call from Evan. Quickly waking himself and answering the phone, the grey arc can barely understand what the cafe owner is saying and has to tell him to calm himself and start again. Evan swallows hard to wet his throat, staring hard at what it is that is concerning him. Then holding his breath he tries again, trying not to sound too worried, but he has no idea who else to ask and he can't exactly fix it himself.

"Really, this is pretty worrisome Rafe! Please come here as fast as you can!"

Almost instantly the grey arc is up and out of bed with all manner of awful things running through his mind. Have the cars been stolen? Perhaps the cake has fallen from the stand and is now a crushed mess on the floor? Or worse, has Vince finally had his head turned by Ray and they've both run away? Magically dressing before he's left the bedroom, the grey arc saves even more time by opening a portal and stepping through it. Instantly appearing next to Evan he's surprised when the cafe owner quickly marches with him over to where the wedding ceremony itself will be performed. Before they've come to a stop he can see what has upset the human. The arch that goes over the welcoming path is turned upside down and perfectly balanced on its feet and stacked one on top of the other, are all the chairs that the guests were supposed to sit on tomorrow. Teetering from side to side in the wind, the wonky tower creaks steadily as if it could fall in any second. Spyder blinks in disbelief and takes a moment to catch his bearings. Calming himself he builds his power, with Evan wringing his hands and pacing back and forth, muttering about everything going wrong. Taking a finger the grey arc taps the cafe owner on the forehead and passes a tiny amount of white energy through his mind. Evan stops instantly and relaxes completely. This gives Spyder a chance to fix things, by levitating the chairs off the arch, then carefully turning it over and placing it back down into place. With another wave of his hand the chairs lift up and return to where they belong as well and finally everything is back the way it was as if nothing untoward had ever happened. They both exhale in relief and look around, trying to see if the culprit just happened to be watching.

"I don't have to think too hard to know who may be responsible for this," Spyder whispers to Evan. Both of them nod in agreement and begin walking back to the out building. Because everyone had kept Evan and Vince busy, the cafe owner thinks that this is the only terrible thing that Ray has done however. Which is good, but it leaves Spyder really worried about what Ray may be planning to do tomorrow, during the ceremony. It's far too early to be worrying right now though, so after escorting Evan back to bed he returns to his own room to sleep a little longer. He'll worry about Ray when he wakes up again later.

---

Slowly peeking around the trunk of the tree, Frosty watches the grumbling Ray slapping at a small bush and pushing it aside as he slips into the shadows of a clump of large trees. Grinning and building a small energy charge inside himself, the blue eyed arc is about to follow when two hands are placed on his hips and he's pulled back into someone's embrace. The pungent odour of petrol and grease gives Frosty a clue. He remains perfectly still, ignoring the silent screams of his hetero side that being this close to a man is just wrong and it should never happen. Frosty is far too intelligent to listen to his panic stricken instinct's exaggerated ravings. He had dealt with his own version of the fix-it man and had been able to satisfy both, without stepping over any line or on anyone's toes. This isn't his Uti though, and he knows that he has to keep that in mind as well.

“Can I help you?” he asks softly, listening to the shuddering breath of the man in his ear. Kurt licks his lips and is about to say something to the coolly smiling arc. When a hand wraps around his wrist and he's jerked back and away, by a snarling Spyder.

“Keep your evil claws off my Uti, thank you!” the annoyed grey eyed arc snaps back at Frosty as he drags a confused Kurt across the lawn.

“Yo Spy!” the fix-it man grunts and tries to gain his feet. The long firm strides of the angry arc demon gives just enough momentum for Kurt to be quite unable to. So he gives up and gruffly allows himself to be dragged along on his buttocks. When he finally comes to a stop and lets him go, Spyder looks firmly into Kurt's eyes and huffs at him.

“Stay away from that creature!”

“What's the matter, jealous?” Kurt purrs with a cheeky waggle of his eyebrows. Spyder narrows his eyes at this and hisses through his teeth in frustration.

“No. I'm trying to protect you, that's all. That version of me...” Spyder stabs a finger in Frosty's direction. “...is the creature inside me that tried to kill you and Murdoc back on the island.” Kurt's grin drops and his face blanches in shock. He blinks at Spyder then looks over towards the tree that Frosty had been hiding behind and swallows hard, remembering the deadly encounter and feeling the urge to cup his genitals protectively in one hand.

“Oh...” he mumbles and slowly wanders off to think about it. Suddenly turning he strides back towards the tree, surprising Spyder who rushes after him. Kurt thrusts his hand back at him and brings the grey arc to a stop. “I need to talk to him Spy. Yes, I'll be careful.” Racked with worry Spyder wrings his hands and watches the fix-it man march with purpose away from him. He knows however that he can't force Kurt to stay away. Although he makes a point of deciding to take the blue eyed arc out if he hurts his former lover.

“And here I was thinking that Ray was the only problem that I would have tomorrow,” Spyder sighs and walks away.
